What is a Ceramic Coating

Every car can use some additional protection. Whether you drive your car every day or just occasionally, chances are that at some point it will be victim to dust and grime because of bad weather or dirty roads. Luckily, ceramic coatings provide an easy solution to protecting your car and making it easier to clean.

A ceramic coating is an si02 based product that is evenly applied by hand to your vehicle’s exterior. This unique coating bonds with your paintwork and provides your car with extra protection from things like dirt, bird droppings, bug residue, road salt, and UV rays. Not only does a ceramic coating help to keep your vehicle’s paintwork safer, but this ceramic layer also gives your vehicle with an eye-catching glossy shine.

Step 1: Ceramic Coating Preparation

Before installing a ceramic coating, we ensure the paint is clean and completely stripped bare! This requires a little more than simple car washing.

Step 2: Paint Correction

( Optional on 1-2 year coatings)

Now that the paint has been completely cleaned and stripped in preparation for the ceramic coating application, it’s time to level out the clear coat and remove some scratches! Because ceramic coatings are the most durable form of long-term paint protection that exists in the detailing world, any little imperfection that is in the paint is there to stay as soon as the coating is applied.

Step 3: Ceramic Coating Application

Most of the work is in the PREP! That is a great way to understand ceramic coatings. While there is a lot of technical skill included in the ceramic coating application… most of the time and labor is done in the preparation! Ceramic coating installations take anywhere from 1 to 3 hours depending on the size of the vehicle

Commonly Asked Ceramic Coating Questions

Do ceramic coatings prevent scratches?

It is important to understand that ceramic coatings are not scratch-proof. Coatings can still be damaged by poor washing techniques and road hazards. However, with the addition of a ceramic coating, you’ll notice a significant reduction in minor cosmetic wear caused by harmful external elements such as road grime, chemical contaminants, bird droppings, and bug residue. Ceramic coatings also help to prevent harmful contaminants from becoming bonded to the exterior surface of your vehicle making cleaning an easier process.
